Practice Interview Service
The Health Professions Resource Committee offers the Health Profession Practice Interview Service during the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters. Interviews are usually conducted by 2-3 members of the Health Professions Resource Committee. The setting is semi-formal and students are encouraged to dress and present themselves as they would at a real interview. Interviews and the discussion that follows take approximately one hour. Students may also meet with a member of the committee after the interview for further advising.
In order to participate in the interview, students must have received an invitation for actual interview, and must present the following information to the College of Science and Math Advising Center prior to scheduling their practice interview:
- A copy of your school or Centralized Application Service (CAS) -primary application
- Your personal statement essay written for the CAS or school application
- A copy of all unofficial transcripts from all schools attended other than Cal Poly. A copy of your Poly Profile is sufficient for Cal Poly. (Not needed if submitting your CAS application)
- A resume or a copy of health profession school application (see first bullet)
Students who do not have these materials ready will not be allowed to schedule an interview.
Students who want to schedule a mock interview need to identify themselves to the College of Science and Mathematics Advising Center as early as possible and requests will be filled on a first come, first serve basis as time allows.
