"To find health should be the object of the doctor. Anyone can find disease."  —Andrew T. Still, MD, DO

"As a family physician, my job is listening to people's stories."

Where To Apply

There is no valid ranking of health professional schools. Obtain information from the individual schools, talk to recent graduates, visit selected schools and ask pointed questions of faculty and students.  Consider:

  • Academic rigor of the program
  • Clinical experience offered
  • Availability of faculty and support services
  • Cost and financial aid available
  • Location and environment

For most students, it is impractical to apply to very large numbers of schools due to the expense.

Typical Application costs

Initial Application $500 - $1000/application
Secondary Application (if required) Up to $1,300
Exams $50 - $360
Interviews (if travel is involved) 0 - $4,000
Deposits 0 - $1,500
Total $550 - $8,100
